TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel Insurance for EU Residents

Appropriate comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients travelling with Aconcagua Treks. You must also advise your insurers of any existing medical conditions that you have and ensure that you have written confirmation that such conditions are fully insured against. This cover should include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue. Always bring a copy of your insurance policy with you on your holiday. Although Aconcagua is a trekking peak standard mountain climbing insurance is not sufficient for an ascent of this nature and full expedition insurance is a mandatory requirement.

At the time of booking we will need a copy of your policy details and an Insurance Declaration will be completed. We also strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, as all deposits paid are non-refundable. Activus Outdoors recommend Snowcard Insurance Services Limited, a company offering a great all-round activity insurance including winter and mountain sports as well as others.

Snowcard supplies the highest quality insurance cover, underwritten by Ageas Insurance which are one of the UK's leading travel insurers. They offer claims expertise and invest lots of resources in maintaining the quality of their claims service. Snowcard have been insuring mountain climbers and trekkers for 20 years and are now the leading independent specialist in offering this type of insurance in the UK. They also offer a 24 hour emergency service whereby in the event of an accident or a serious illness they will do their best to arrange a road or air ambulance and help you negotiate with Assistance International to sort out payment for your medical costs. Wherever in the world you travel to, you will have easy access to one of the best emergency assistance services available.

Snowcard insurance premiums are competitive so if a significantly lower quote has been found you must ask some probing questions to glean what exactly is in the cover policy. You only ever get what you pay for and low premiums can mean higher policy excesses and lower limits of cover. Snowcard also has some useful extra cover for the active traveller that is not found in ordinary policies. In taking out a Snowcard policy you are buying a specialist product with full and detailed information, regulated by The Financial Services Authority. Your life is your responsibility and when going to potentially dangerous environments you should make sure it is wholly protected.
